‘Five senators ask Biden to impose China travel ban after respiratory illness cases’; this led by Senator Marco Rubio; IMO, Marco is a raving IDIOT, this is a political stunt & shows why he will NEVER

hold high office, he is an opportunist & I did like him but he is a blowhard; understands nothing about what he is saying because a travel ban will not & cannot stop spread of respiratory virus
Theoretically you may think that a travel ban can work, like how theoretically how lockdowns could work, but they cannot and carry huge costs. Once pathogen has breached the borders, no ban can constrain it then. Impossible and they know it, we all know it. If there is also an animal reservoir, no travel ban or lockdown can be successful. So this is virtue signally by Rubio, the fabulous 5 for votes.
IMO, this is a likely commensal pathogen, commensal bacteria if we accepted mycoplasma bacteria (ubiquitous) as the culprit, meaning it is there in a symbiotic relation with host and comes alive if our immune system is weakened, subverted in some nanner. Case in point, we have been arguing that the Karens and Kens, the COVID mandarin, ex cathedra lockdown lunatics, the COVID Taliban, damaged our immune systems and that of children with prolonged lockdowns and the mRNA vaccine also damaged it by subverting the proper optimal development of the child’s immune system. The COVID vaccine has damaged our immune systems. Thats the legacy. We are paying and will pay a steep price. The immune system of an unvaccinated child who withstood 3.5 years of this COVID insanity etc. is the victory, the prize.

The parents ensured that child’s innate immune system (innate natural antibodies and natural killer cells (NK) and general immune system was taxed and tuned up daily, being exposed naturally and harmlessly to pathogen, recovering, with natural bullet-proof immunity, life-long (innate and acquired/adaptive). A developing immune system needs exposure and training (as in a child especially when maternal antibodies wane at about 4-6 months), ‘education’ on pathogen it confronts now, and pathogen it will confront in the future, and also training in the recognition of ‘self’ versus ‘non-self’ so that means mitigation of auto-immune disease.
We will be getting much more of these, potentially lethal too.
Bottom line is that travel bans including closing airports and even screening of people at borders especially mass screening of asymptomatic persons have shown itself to be highly ineffective across time. Historically. There is no evidence of this ever being successful.
These 5 idiots, these ding dongs should read the seminal paper by Dr. Donald Henderson who eradicated smallpox on how epidemics, pandemics etc. should be handled.

Henderson wrote “The World Health Organization Writing Group concluded that “screening and quarantining entering travelers at international borders did not substantially delay virus introduction in past pandemics . . . and will likely be even less effective in the modern era.”
“Similar conclusions were reached by public health authorities involved in the international efforts to control SARS. Canadian health authorities report that “available screening measures for SARS were limited in their effectiveness in detecting SARS among inbound or outbound passengers from SARS-affected areas.”
A review by a WHO Working Group on SARS also concluded that “entry screening of travelers through health declarations or thermal scanning at international borders had little documented effect on detecting SARS cases.”
Rubio just lost serious credibility.

“We should immediately restrict travel between the United States and (China) until we know more about the dangers posed by this new illness,” said the letter signed by Rubio, the top Republican on the Senate Intelligence Committee.’
