Surprised? Not me, I expected this! “Childbirth in Sweden is decreasing”; Childbirth in the spring of 2022 is at the lowest level in over twenty years, according to Statistics Sweden.

When Swedes became homebound during the pandemic, childbearing increased. But now statistics from Statistics Sweden show that childbearing during the period January to April this year has stopped and remained at just under 1.6 children per woman.’
